A special variety of soup with a tint of Indian spices is definitely unique and should give it a try. Vegetable broth can also replaced by chicken broth and along with the clove and bayleaf, half of a star anise can be added. Before grinding the vegetables make sure the spices are taken out. Garnish the soup with salt, pepper and cumin powder(optional). Enjoy the soup with bread.

When a soup is the only thing you want to have for dinner, then it should be a filling one like the meatball soup rather than any of those clear soups. This soup with the meatballs and vegetables is a boon for your taste buds and stomach. The meatballs can usually be made in excess, and can be deep fried to form an excellent snack, though it will make up for the calories lost by having the soup. Any meat can be used to make the meatballs, but chicken or lamb would be a good choice. Since the soup itself is a complete meal, enjoy the soup when it is warm.

A wonderful and healthy soup for a rainy day and a quick one too, if you had done chopping with the vegetables. Depending on the consistency of the soup needed, you can alter the vegetables like potatoes, peas, beetroot, zucchini or even some boiled chicken pieces. Enjoy the soup with corn chips.

Another wonderful soup with carrots and yellow squash. Tastes great with bread or corn chips and kids love these. A slight variation would be to try it with mixed vegetables. Pressure cook with carrot, potatoes, beans and tomatoes, follow the same procedure. Enjoy soup with Chicken 65 or Chicken Manchurian.

A very different and healthy recipe you can try with peas. Try this recipe and you’ll really love it. It’s an excellent snack for kids. Instead of peas you can try the same recipe with tomato or carrots. If you like a sweeter version of the soup, try it with red pumpkin and a bit of sugar instead of salt. No hassle ways to get your kids eat vegetables.

A very nutritious and a filling meal, easy to prepare and tastes great. The barley gives the consistency for the soup, so if you want it watery add very less of barley. Add a clove of garlic and a pinch of chilli powder if you like it spicy. A very good and infact a healthy substitute for an indian meal. Tastes great with corn chips.
